Budget Travel: Featured Caribbean Inn

The Pineapple House is quite popular in the Antigua yachtie scene, but it's not just yachties that stay there.

Built along the side of a hill amoungst beautiful landscaped trees and flowers, the open air cottages have a million dollar view of multi million dollar yachts docked in Falmouth Harbour.

The cottages are open and breezy, you'll never need air conditioning. The most beautiful beaches on the island are a five minute walk in one direction and the best nightlife and shopping on the island are five minutes away in the other direction.Rates start at $1,100 a week in November. The Pineapple House is only open November 15 to May 15.

Life as a Chef Aboard a Private Yacht

I found another yachtie out there on the web. Niall's site, The Life of a Private Chef has a lot of video footage of St. Martin, Antigua and other some places in the Med. Looks like he's retired from yachting like me, but you can still follow his adventures in the archives!

What I've Been Up To

So a lot of you have asked me what I've been up to and what is this mysterious "Travel Dream Job" that I posted about. I can't go into much detail, but I was hired as a personal assistant to a gentleman who lives in Beverly Hills. He had a private jet and among many of the job responsibilities I accompanied him as he flew to his numerous homes worldwide. The job was just temporary, but I have to say that those six weeks were memories of a lifetime!

That's about all I can say other than now that I've flown private jet and first class I am completely destroyed and spoiled...not to mention looking for a new job once again! I mean, honestly, how can any other job following this experience possibly measure up? I'm ruined.

I have a very long and strange story to tell you about my crazy life and why I haven't blogged all month. Right now, I'm recuperating, but tonight I'll post pictures and stories of my adventures. I can tell you that I've been chilling in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Boston and it's been a wild ride. More to come...

I'm a travel writer...sort of!

I submitted an article entitled, So You Want to Work on a Yacht?, to eZine.com and it was accepted. If you are one of the three regular lurkers on my blog then you'll recognize it as basically just an article I've posted on here. I'm just crossing over...to where I'm not sure. I am also listed as an expert author in the cruising and sailing category. Me? I'm just waiting for someone who actually knows what they're talking about to overtake me. Maybe the true experts are actually out doing something productive like cruising or sailing as compared to me just sitting here at my computer. Via Via Travel

Well, finally, after planning this for three years I have opened my own travel business, Via Via Travel. Right now, the only travel products I'm offering are cruises and hotels in the Caribbean and Central and South America. I also have access to vacation villas in the Caribbean presently. While the business is absolutely going to be organic and ever growing, I plan on branching out into eco-travel, adventure travel, and luxury travel products. And ambitiously, I would like to have my own Via Via Travel luggage line and travel products. Eventually, I'd like to offer tours and packages around the world especially in South Africa-my favorite country in the world. Further services that we presently offer-exclusive hotel discounts, cruise promotions, and reduced rates on car rentals and flight bookings.
